Heavy steel construction

Steel structures manufacture in the company VÍTKOVICE comes up to second half of the 19th century. Therefore our company belongs to the oldest and the biggest producer of steel structures not only in the Czech Republic, but also in the nearest countries. The tradition of steel structures manufacture and the bridges of all kinds is already for more than 150 years.

The bridge building works have been reconstructed and modernized in the period of the Second World War. This period is remarkable of intensive reconstruction works on main connecting routes either the railway, or roads.

The most known bridges made after the Second World War is the Zdakov bridge, the highway bridge Velke Mezizhichi, the Extension bridge in Bratislava and the others.
From outstanding buildings it is possible to mention the Hotel Thermal in Karlovy Vary, New scene of the National Theater or the Congress Center in Prague.
A separate chapter is the construction of the television transmitters (Jested, Praded, Lysa hora, Prague-Zhizhkov, …)

In the modern history our bridge building works continue with the manufacture of the bridges and steel structures not only for the Czech Republic, but also for the other important European countries (first of all Germany, Poland, Austria, Denmark, Lithuania), in many cases their products reach also Asia or the North America.
Together with the development of power engineering systems, respectively following the raising electric energy consumption of the last decade, it becomes gradually to prevail the proportion of supplies of steel structures for the Power Plants construction.

The production is in most cases of pieces character with a considerable portion of welding works. Own design office is capable to realize the most demanding projects. Many times the integral part of the steel structures is also the proposal and application of first-quality system of anticorrosive protection.
